Corrosion damage and its consequences
Heating oil can always contain water. Temperature fluctuations cause sweat or condensation to form on the tank walls.
Due to its higher specific weight compared to heating oil, it collects on the bottom of the tank. Minerals and chemical compounds contained in the heating oil also settle on the bottom of the tank.
Over time, an aggressive sump forms that gradually eats away at the bottom of the tank. The result is an unprotected tank bottom that is destroyed by pitting.
Measures to save your heating oil tank system:
> Tank inner shell / leak protection lining
> plastic coating
> New installation
> anode protection
> Glass fiber reinforced polyester coating (GRP)
By installing the GRP coating, your steel tank is protected. The corrosion-resistant GRP coating prevents dangerous internal corrosion and guarantees the tank owner a long-term preservation of his tank system.
